Bite sound and fact bite

Yesterday I recoded the sound of myself biting an apple and today I recoded myself and a friend reading facts, this was for my feature "fact bites"

Seren the heron chapel session 3/2/14

In this session I was working on a camera recording a singer/songwriter. She performed two song both in a folk style, one was called drummer boy the second was called flames. The set up we used meant we found some very good shots including moving shots due to the use of tracks. We had to be aware of any noise being made as both songs were quiet and even uneven tiles being stepped on could be picked up on the microphones. The sound was clear and fades were used between several shots.

Sound engineer

I have worked on and observed the work of a sound engineer, a well known sound engineer is Bill Porter, he worked for Elvis Presley and several other people. The sound engineer has to mix the music so it fits in together and sounds good.

Production roles

I have done three different production roles, working on the sound desk where I had to control the sound levels, working as a cameraman, this was my role in our Xmas factor and assistant tricaster operator

20/11/13 art college session

In this session I was given the task of watching the camera feeds and telling the person controlling the tricaster what camera to switch to. I had to watch three screens, each showing the view from a different camera and call out the number of the camera to go to.

2/12//13 sound forge mixing

In this session we were told to mix together music to create three jingles, we had to cut and mix the music together. Mixing involved choosing what music segment should be louder and more noticeable.
